The Murrah Hall is 120 years old this year and is ready to celebrate with you, your friends, families and communities, the totally local largess and music excitement that is a feature of being here.

Starting at 3.00 pm on Saturday September 9th and extending into the night for a flat entry price of only $20.00 with the usual ‘kids free’ policy. –

Regarding this special birthday, Howard Stanley, Murrah Prez has said,

“The Murrah Committee acknowledges the emerging paradox of community need for entertainment fun and the unfortunate now and future fact of limited budgets and reduced discretionary spending along with rising entry prices hence the $20 entry fee – and low price BBQ, the Hall is for Community, not for profit.

This event represents the best value entertainment spend of the year.”

Afternoon outside 3.00pm

Shunning the current festival trend of multiple, multi loud stages, tents, 3rd party vans, generators, designated consumer tags and trucks, the Murrah keeps it simple for a family, kids and friends event using the now radical approach of one thing at a time plus BBQ chill out.

Be welcomed into the space with Marco Solo’s haunting banjo/drum combo.
Then the exciting Djembe Forte African Drummers
And in the supper room: featuring inside stories for families and the young with the captivating Noisey Nonna and her Japanese inspired Kamishibai, a focused story telling tool that deepens young audience’s engagement.

Evening inside 6.00 pm till late

Head lining the night is the amazing GOLDIE who debuted their initial big set at the Hall and has since gone from Dance strength to Dance strength.
The supporting acts represent three generations of local music.
Lillian McVeity’s first Murrah gig was as an onstage toddler sitting under her mum, Candy McVeity playing piano accordion for a Murrah benefit in 2004 – as then as now – she looked totally at home. The reclusive Martin Fowler is one of the greatest singer songwriters of … pretty much anywhere. The Gulls do ska like you’ve never heard, blues with the Welcome Strangers and Mister Rees introduces multiple 30’s generation players of abandon into a sculpted musical force.
