Sounds Delicious presents:
Kinky Friedman (USA) and Luke O’Shea
Friday 21 October @ Tomerong Hall
Doors 6.30PM Music Starts 7.30PM
$75
Nobody could invent a character quite like Kinky Friedman, the stogie-waving, black-hat-wearing Texas Jewboy singer, storyteller, tequila purveyor, animal rescuer and full-time iconoclast. Renowned for penning a slew of satirical songs in the 70’s, he has not stood still….
Texas gubernatorial candidate, philosopher, author of crime novels, the self-described “Texas jewboy,” Friedman is hardly your average singer/songwriter. Since he launched his career back when LBJ was president he’s toured with most of The Band, recorded with Clapton, written novels and appeared on the Grand Ole Opry as well as Saturday Night Live. He was also part of Dylan’s Rolling Thunder Revue. Tall Tales,Tequila, and a stogie thick enough to last the night, that’s what Texan troubadour Kinky Friedman will be bringing to Tomerong.
Starting things up for the night will be six time Golden Guitar winner Luke O’Shea, featuring his new album “Caught in the Dreaming”. For the last few years Luke has been exploring inland Australia with his wife and 3 children, and his latest work reflects these big themes- a strong connection to Australia – the physical land and its unique people, and the limited amount of time we have upon it with the ones we love.
Numbers are limited for this gig, and as it is a catered event, online sales only!
Tickets are $75, which includes a Texan BBQ.
Doors and Bar Open at 6:30pm, Music 7:30 No BYO please – the venue will be licensed for this event with a full bar!
