Event Details

Evening is a magic time at Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden (ERBG). The day’s heat has abated, birds are actively finding their perch for the night, tiny bats are flying and kangaroos, if they can be bothered, lift their heads to watch us humans walk past. Public access to ERBG after hours is most unusual. Friends of ERBG are pleased to offer an Evening Nature Walk on Friday 23rd February, 5:30 – 9:00 pm. From 5:30 to 6:30 children can take part in nature-based craft activities, and then go on walks with their parents. From 7:00, small groups will be led by guides from Eurobodalla Natural History Society, staff from Eurobodalla Shire, and volunteer guides from ERBG. Spotlighting will begin at 8:00 and the event concludes at 9:00 pm. Various walking groups may have a special interest in frogs, birds, plants or mammals.

On arrival please register at the bridge, then walk down to the BBQs next to the Children’s Play Space. Guests are invited to bring their own picnic dinner, tables and chairs, and reusable food containers that can be used to take rubbish away. Hot sizzled sausages ($2) will be available but no public access to BBQs will be provided. Drinks will be on sale. Insect repellent is advisable and closed shoes are necessary. Small pocket torches are allowed for walking. If the weather turns so unpleasant that the event has to be cancelled at the last minute, the alternative date is Friday 2 March and everyone who has booked will be contacted by e-mail. The event will proceed if there is light drizzle – just dress accordingly.
Proceeds from the event will contribute to the redevelopment of the Visitor Centre at ERBG.

Tickets are $15 or $10 to FRIENDS OF ERBG (please quote membership number on arrival)
