Kangaroo Valley Art Prize Exhibition
Featuring established and emerging contemporary artists from Sydney, throughout NSW and interstate. Small to large works, ranging in price from $150 to $9000. Exhibition entry is free and open to the public. All works also available for sale via the online Gallery from the opening night through to the end of October.
Featured Artist: Vanessa Stockard
The exhibition includes an invited solo show by an emerging national artist of great talent. Vanessa Stockard, dual Archibald Finalist (2017, 2018), will have a separate room for a parallel solo show. Vanessa has been given close to 20 solo shows in Australia and the USA, and has been in many more group shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Hong Kong, New York, Berkeley and Portland and throughout regional NSW. Her prizes include Highly Commended, Goulburn Regional Gallery, 2013; Finalist, Portia Geach Memorial Award, 2017; and repeat Finalist, Archibald Prize, 2017 & 2018. She has recently accepted a residency at Chateau Orquevaux, France.
Curator & Judges
The Curator is noted artist, educator and supporter of the arts, Allan Baptist OAM. Judges for the $5000 Kangaroo Valley Art Prize are, art consultant and influential art advocate, Natalia Bradshaw, formerly with Art & Australia and Sydney Art Month; and Therese Kenyon, prominent Sydney artist, educator and writer, former director Manly Art Gallery & Museum and University of Sydney Art Workshops & Tin Sheds Gallery.
